Scope of Application

The HD series and HS series Knife Switches (here in after referred to as the switches) are suitable for use in complete switchgear and control gear assemblies with AC 50Hz, rated operational voltages up to 690V, and rated operational currents up to 3000A. They are used for infrequent manual making and breaking of circuits or as isolating switches. Among them:

  • Central Handle Type Knife Switches are primarily used in power stations and are not intended to break circuits under load; they serve as isolating switches.
  • Side Front Lever Operating Mechanism Type Switches are mainly used in switchgear cabinets designed for front operation and front maintenance. The operating mechanism can be installed on either side of the cabinet.
  • Central Front Lever Operating Mechanism Type Switches are mainly used in switchgear cabinets designed for front operation and rear maintenance. The operating mechanism is mounted on the front.
  • Side Operating Handle Type Switches are primarily used in power distribution boxes.
  • Switches equipped with an arc chute can interrupt appropriate current loads. Other series knife switches are for isolating purposes only.

The products comply with the GB/T 14048.3 standard.
