Application Scope
The HD series open knife switch and HS series dual-throw switch (hereinafter referred to as “switches”) are suitable for AC 50Hz systems with a rated voltage up to AC 400V and DC 230V, and rated thermal current up to 630A in complete distribution equipment.
Switches with an arc-extinguishing cover are mainly used for making and breaking circuits under load.
Switches without an arc-extinguishing cover are primarily used for circuit isolation.
The products feature a simple structure, convenient operation, and comply with IEC 60947-3 and GB/T 14048.3 standards.
The HD11 series center-handle knife switch is mainly used in power stations to make or break non-load circuits and serves as a power isolation switch.
Normal Operating Conditions
- Ambient air temperature:
- Maximum: +40°C
- Minimum: -5°C
- 24-hour average temperature shall not exceed +35°C
- Altitude: Installation site not exceeding 2000 meters above sea level.
- Atmospheric conditions:
- Relative humidity not exceeding 50% at +40°C
- Higher humidity allowed at lower temperatures (e.g., up to 90% at +20°C)
- Condensation due to temperature variation should be considered
- Pollution degree: Grade 3
- Installation category: Class III
- Installation environment:
Installed in locations free from severe vibration and impact, free from explosive hazards, and without corrosive gases that could damage metal or insulation materials. - For special operating conditions, please consult the manufacturer.

Structural Features
- For ratings 200A and 400A, single-break structure is adopted; 600A models use double-break structure.
- All blades are equipped with springs to ensure sufficient contact pressure.
- Blade, contact bridge, and contact surfaces are tin-plated to reduce surface contact resistance and improve conductivity.
- The operating mechanism of switches with arc-extinguishing cover ensures safe operation when switching load circuits. The cover is made of insulating material and arc-resistant components, significantly enhancing arc suppression capability.
- The center-handle operating mechanism features fast make-and-break action to improve safety performance. The breaking and making speed of 200A switches is the same as that of 600A switches.
- The switch adopts a visible isolation structure with clearly observable contact position and status indication.
- The insulating base plate and arc barriers are made of high-strength insulating materials, offering excellent mechanical strength and electrical performance.
